We <\/span>are<\/span> at<\/span> our<\/span> customers<\/span>‘ <\/span>assistance<\/span> already<\/span> at<\/span> the <\/span>device<\/span> design <\/span>stage<\/span>. <\/span>That<\/span> is<\/span> when<\/span> we <\/span>help<\/span> to <\/span>take<\/span> into<\/span> account<\/span> the <\/span>production<\/span> process<\/span> requirements<\/span>, the <\/span>testing<\/span> process<\/span>, to <\/span>adjust<\/span> the <\/span>device<\/span> design to <\/span>optimise<\/span> the <\/span>labour<\/span> intensity<\/span> (<\/span>sometimes<\/span> radically<\/span> reducing<\/span> the <\/span>production<\/span> cost<\/span>).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the <\/span>initial<\/span> stage<\/span> we <\/span>also<\/span> review<\/span> the bill of materials (BOM) in order to <\/span>detect<\/span> elements<\/span> that<\/span> may<\/span> present<\/span> purchasing<\/span> problems<\/span> (<\/span>exceptionally<\/span> long<\/span> lead<\/span> times<\/span>, <\/span>discontinued<\/span> or<\/span> phased<\/span> out <\/span>components<\/span>, etc.) <\/span>or<\/span> draw<\/span> attention<\/span> to <\/span>particularly<\/span> expensive<\/span> materials. <\/span>Considering<\/span> the <\/span>possibility<\/span> of <\/span>changing<\/span> them<\/span> already<\/span> at<\/span> the design <\/span>stage<\/span> reduces<\/span> costs<\/span> and the <\/span>time<\/span>-to-market for <\/span>new<\/span> products.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
